2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee

2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee First Look: A Step Before Hellcat

The 2027 Dodge Charger lineup grows once more with the return of the Super Bee. Slotting above the Scat Pack, this takes this six-cylinder muscle car up to new heights. Under the hood, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo I-6 now makes 600 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque, a 50-hp increase over the Six Pack High Output. Dodge achieved this by using 56-mm Garret Motion turbochargers delivering over 30 psi of boost. The result? Increased airflow and efficiency. Peak torque is available at 3,000 rpm all the way up to 5,900 rpm.

In addition, the larger turbochargers in the 2027 Dodge Charger Superbee push more air through the engine. About 7.5 percent more, to be exact. As a result, the Superbee maintains stronger top-end performance and consistent power delivery during repeated runs. It also includes revised turbocharger and exhaust tuning for a more aggressive soundtrack and a modified intake system to maximize airflow. Furthermore, strengthened components help withstand extreme demands. These include larger reinforced half shafts that are nearly 10 percent stronger.

Big Time Cooling and Thermal Management

Extensive cooling was also added to the Super Bee. Versus the Scat Pack, it has 50% more cooling capacity. Increased thermal headroom. It features a model-specific high-flow front fascia with larger openings, revised airflow paths, and dedicated cooling channels developed with the car’s performance requirements in mind. As a result, it increases airflow by 30 percent, while increasing downforce by 100 lbs. at 150 mph. Auxiliary radiators, enhanced engine cooling, charge-air cooling, transmission cooling, and more are optimized specifically for the Super Bee. An extended splitter works together with the rest of the cooling systems to manage airflow throughout the vehicle to give the car the endurance for track sessions.

Thanks to all of these powertrain and cooling improvements, the 2027 Super Bee can sprint to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, improving on its V8-powered predecessor by 0.9 seconds. On the other hand, the quarter-mile time drops from 12.4 seconds to 11.8 seconds.

2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee: Chassis, Enhanced

To complement the Super Bee’s power, massive 16-inch Brembo brakes come standard. They feature six pistons up front and four in the rear, providing three times more fade resistance than the Six Pack model. Meanwhile, 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 305/35ZR20 summer tires maximize grip, sharpen turn-in response, and handling. Continuous Damping Control dual-valve adaptive dampers deliver significantly more damping force than outgoing systems, allowing the Super Bee to corner harder and respond quicker. The system constantly adjusts damping forces in real time to maximize grip and stability.

To capitalize on the adaptive dampers’ capabilities, the Charger Super Bee includes strengthened chassis hardware. These include a 25 percent increase in front tension-link bushing stiffness to improve steering precision and 50 percent stiffer front handling-link bushings. These result in quicker turn-ins and more direct feedback. Dodge also increased spring rates by 12 percent up front and 8 percent in the rear to improve body control. Additionally, the rear anti-roll bar is 20 percent stiffer, allowing the Super Bee to rotate better through corners and reduce understeer. The handling improvements don’t come at the cost of ride comfort, either. Thanks to the adaptive dampers, the Charger Super Bee retains its everyday usability while offering track-ready handling.

Like the rest of the Charger lineup, the Super Bee comes standard with AWD. This setup includes a dedicated RWD mode, allowing for some awesome sideways action and a more engaging drive. Moreover, upgraded rear half-shafts give it added durability for performance driving and for withstanding the stresses of hard launches and aggressive throttle applications.

New Performance Modes

In addition, you also get new Track and Drag modes that optimize the car for the circuit or drag strips. Torque Reserve builds boost before leaving the starting line for more consistent straight-line acceleration. On the other hand, Race Prep helps manage temperatures between runs by keeping the cooling fan active even after shutting the engine off. This keeps airflow going continuously to move residual heat out of the radiator, intercooler, and engine compartment. Line Lock, Launch Control, and Performance packages are all on hand, too.

The Super Bee also debuts the Drive Experience Recorder on the Charger Six Pack. This allows the driver to capture their laps, drag runs, and more from a forward-facing 1080p camera. It also includes a microphone to capture sounds. Drivers can manually turn on the Drive Experience Recorder or set it to automatically turn on when you start your session. You can also analyze your laps via the AliveDrive app, which synchronizes video and vehicle data to identify the fastest laps and compare your performance.

2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee: Launching in Style

Initially, the Super Bee will arrive in the Launch Edition to celebrate its return. It features a new Super Bee logo that reflects the new twin-turbocharged six-cylinder era of the vehicle. Three new exterior colors are also on hand: Sucker Punch, Shady, and Diamond Black. Each one comes with a distinct theme. Sucker Punch pays tribute to Dodge’s history of vibrant yellow heritage colors and pairs it with gloss black Stinger Super Bee graphics, a gloss-black hood patch with Super Bee text, and gloss black rear graphics.

The Diamond Black exterior color contrasts with layers of Sucker Punch accents. These include the rear spoiler and fascia, body stripes, and hood patch stripes. On the other hand, Shady comes paired with gloss black graphics for a stealthy look. Inside, the Charger Super Bee features cloth high-back performance seats with the new Super Bee logo. It also includes unique Citrus Peel pattern inserts and Silver/Sour Lemon contrast stitching. The new performance steering wheel continues the theme with a Citrus Peel 12 o’clock marker. To further make the Super Bee special, it comes with a unique Super Bee instrument panel badge.

Pricing will be announced closer to the Super Bee’s launch date. With the gas Scat Pack starting just under $57,000, expect this limited-run Charger to cost around $65,000 or more.
