Everyone knows the EPA test cycle veers on the conservative side, especially for battery-electric vehicles. As a result, most models typically receive lower ratings than the manufacturer initially projects. However, in some cases, the opposite happens, and that’s exactly what we have with the 2027 Volvo EX60 P10. Initially projected to receive a rating of 322 miles with either 20-inch or 21-inch alloy wheels, this variant received a higher official rating of 330 miles. That’s 8 miles more than Volvo’s own projection, officially making this the EV with the longest driving range in the brand’s stable. Yes, it goes farther than the larger EX90, which tops out at 305 miles according to the EPA.
This may not last long, though. The 2027 Volvo EX60 still has one more model above the P10: the 671-hp P12. That model has a 117-kWh battery pack with 112 kWh of usable capacity, significantly more than the 95-kWh pack (91 kWh usable) that the P10 has. As a result, the EX60 P12 has a Volvo-estimated driving range of 400 miles with 20-inch wheels. Equip the 21-inch wheels, and that decreases to 390 miles. Go up once more to 22s and the driving range drops to 375 miles. Regardless, the P12 will come out the driving range king among Volvo EVs.
As a whole, the 2027 EX60 lineup marks a massive leap forward for Volvo’s EV lineup. In addition to the 800-volt electrical architecture that helps it DC charge incredibly quickly, all models have generous driving range. The P6 model, which has the smallest battery at 83 kWh (80 kWh usable), is EPA-rated at 306 miles with 20- or 21-inch wheels, and 295 miles with 22-inch wheels. The P10 model with the largest wheel option checks in at 312 miles according to the EPA.
