2027 Volkswagen ID Buzz

2027 Volkswagen ID Buzz Returns Alongside Minor Range Tweaks

After a one-year hiatus, the Volkswagen ID Buzz returns for 2027 with some meaningful changes. The biggest cosmetic update? Two-tone exterior colors come standard. Those single-tone options? No longer available on the ID Buzz. Additionally, a new combo joins the exterior color palette: Candy White over Cherry Red. Every 2027 ID Buzz now comes standard with an NACS charging port.

On the tech front, the 2027 Volkswagen ID Buzz now comes with the Android-based ID.S 6 software. It features enhanced content, which includes a refreshed home screen and a new vehicle settings page. Every ID Buzz also comes with a one-year trial for the In-Vehicle Premium service, which now has an app store that lets you download third-party apps like YouTube and Spotify. Additional functions included in the In-Vehicle Premium service include navigation with real-time traffic, ChatGPT voice control integration, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and a premium radio station.

The ID Buzz also now has AirConsole, allowing you to use the infotainment system as a gaming platform with your smartphone. Meanwhile, Travel Assist now includes lane-change assist and available road data on the ID Buzz, as well as the Atlas, Golf family, and Tiguan. Furthermore, Emergency Assist can now automatically move the vehicle and bring it to a halt on the right shoulder.

2027 Volkswagen ID Buzz: A Streamlined Lineup

The rest of the ID Buzz lineup receives small changes. The Pro S Plus trim now comes exclusively with dual-motor AWD, while the Pro S now offers RWD or AWD. Joining the lineup as the second-highest trim is the AWD-only Tourer. Built on the European-spec Good Night package, it includes a fold-out platform mattress, window blinds, front-window ventilation panels, and exterior tables and chairs. It also has an Overnight mode that adapts the interior and exterior for overnight use. Other standard features on the Tourer trim include a retractable tow hitch, second-row captain’s chairs, a surround-view camera, an electrochromic glass roof, and 20-inch dark graphite wheels with black discs.

What about other Volkswagen models? Well, they carry over with very small changes. Both the Jetta and Taos now come standard with a six-speaker audio system and keyless entry/start. Additionally, the Taos adds a new Sport trim. It features 18-inch wheels, a roof spoiler, gloss black side mirror covers, and a gunmetal finish on the front bumper trim, rear skid plate, and exhaust tips. Inside, the Taos Sport features yellow stitching. Meanwhile, the Tiguan’s SE R-Line Black trim now comes standard with a heated steering wheel. What about the Golf GTI and Golf R? Both carry over unchanged. The former’s base S trim gains keyless entry/start as standard.

As for the Atlas Cross Sport and ID 4, Volkswagen did not disclose much. The automaker will announce details on the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport closer to its world debut later this year. On the other hand, a new variant of the ID 4, likely called the ID Tiguan, is planned for North America. However, like the Atlas Cross Sport, details will be announced closer to its debut at a later date.
