Kia has put a price tag on the 2027 EV3, and it’s ready to bring battery-electric vehicles to the mass market. Starting at $31,385 for the base Light FWD trim, it’s a steal. However, there’s a caveat. That model uses a 58.3-kWh battery and has an EPA-estimated driving range rating of only 221 miles. Thankfully, it comes with a full driver assistance suite, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The trim you really want is the Wind, which starts at $36,485 for the FWD model or $40,185 with AWD. That gets you a larger 81.4-kWh battery, increasing the EPA driving range rating to 321 miles. Additionally, it adds heated front seats and a 10-way power driver’s seat, while AWD variants include a heated steering wheel and a heat pump. Meanwhile, the Land trim starts at $39,985 with FWD or $43,185 with AWD. That adds niceties like ventilated front seats, a sunroof, 19-inch wheels, a surround-view camera, and Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist.
Slotting above that, the GT-Line adds sporty design details plus AWD as standard for $44,985. It also has a 10-way power front passenger seat, a driver relaxation seat, and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. At the top of the lineup, the 2027 Kia EV3 GT costs $47,385. That includes goodies like front sport seats, lots of acid green details, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Highway Driving Assist 2, and more. Additionally, the GT model comes with a sport-tuned suspension and Active Sound Design.

2027 Kia EV3: Generous Power
As far as power goes, the front-drive models have 201 hp and 209 lb-ft of torque. AWD models have 261 hp and 284 lb-ft. Meanwhile, the EV3 GT has the most at 288 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the more powerful AWD models are EPA-rated for 280 miles. Kia says the EV3 GT can hit 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, putting it in the same ballpark as some gas-powered hot hatches.
Unlike the larger EV6 and EV9, the EV3 uses a 400-volt electrical system. This allows it to DC charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes under ideal conditions. Peak DC charging rates vary based on the battery, with the larger pack maxing out at 130 kW. The GT trim also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability. AN NACS charging port comes standard.
As far as the competition goes, the EV3 is more expensive than the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Bolt. If you treat the Wind as the true base model, it costs similarly to the Toyota C-HR and Subaru Uncharted. However, the EV3’s front-drive models have longer range, while the AWD models are in the same ballpark as the C-HR and Uncharted. If it were our money, we’d go with the Wind or Land trim, which seem to be the sweet spot. Add the Nightfall package for the blackout look. However, the value proposition falters, so only grab it if you really want it. The GT-Line and GT feel overpriced for what you get, which is not typical for a Kia.
