New year, new attitude, right? Well, that’s exactly how Stellantis kicked off 2026 with the rebirth of its iconic super truck. That’s right, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX has returned. It coincides with the relaunch of the SRT Performance Division, hence the truck’s new name. This also marks the first time in over two decades that a truck wore the SRT badge. Ram last had an SRT-badged vehicle in 2006 with the Ram SRT-10, a truck that used the same V10 engine as the iconic Viper sports car.
2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX: Incredible Power
What’s under the hood? The same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 paired to a high-torque capacity eight-speed automatic transmission. This time around, it makes a whopping 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 75 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque versus its predecessor. Ram says the new TRX can hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds before topping out at 118 mph. To achieve that, the truck features a 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger. It also includes a dual-path induction system that draws cool outside air from the side of the grille and the center-mounted hood scoop. That air then flows into a high-capacity air filter to ensure maximum air volume and even distribution, maximizing performance and longevity.
Power gets to all four wheels via a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time transfer case and a full-time active 4WD system. The latter features three modes: Auto, 4WD High, and 4WD Low to help maximize grip in any weather or terrain. Additionally, the low range has a 2.64:1 low range ratio to optimize low-speed crawling off the beaten path. Finally, the Ram TRX features a true sport-tuned dual exhaust system with an X crossover pipe for that unmistakable roar.

Sophisticated Chassis Upgrades
To complement that power, the Ram TRX features a suspension setup tuned for off-road dominance. This starts with an independent front suspension with active dampers and high-strength aluminum components. Its control arms are designed to keep caster and camber angles in check during suspension cycling. The setup also includes 13 inches of travel from droop to full compression and was specifically tuned for use with the supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Out back, you’ll find a Dana 60 rear axle with full-floating axle shafts and an electronic locking rear differential. The former uses an axle hop damper to improve traction and control on rough surfaces. Plus, it features a five-link coil setup that maintains the excellent ride comfort of the Ram 1500, while the TRX-specific hard points allow for up to 14 inches of rear axle travel.
The suspension and chassis upgrades don’t stop there. Like the Ram 1500 RHO, the TRX features the second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks. This allows for enhanced control of damping forces, compression, and rebound. Additionally, it works together with Ram’s Active Terrain Dynamics suspension management system to maintain excellent ride comfort, body control, terrain isolation, and handling. It also adjusts traction and stability control behavior to accommodate various road surfaces. Owners can also fine-tune the truck via its numerous drive modes, including Auto, Tow, Mud/Sand, Rock, Snow, Sport, Baja, Custom, and Valet. And yes, it also has Launch Control.

Purposefully Rugged
Featuring 11.8 inches of ground clearance, the 2027 Ram TRX matches the RHO. However, it rides two inches higher and six inches wider than the Rebel. Composite fender flares result in a body that’s eight inches wider than before. Standard 18-inch alloy wheels come wrapped in 35-inch all-terrain tires and house massive brakes behind them. In fact, the TRX has the largest brake rotors among full-size trucks! You can also select 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels in a Satin Black finish and optional Satin Titanium rings.
The aggressive style comes with functional components, too. These include the flow-through Flame Red Ram front grille with an SRT badge, a steel front bumper integrated with a skid plate, and tow hooks finished in Flame Red. Meanwhile, the LED headlights and taillights feature Satin Black bezels and a model-specific lighting animation when approaching or leaving the truck. In the back, the TRX features a cool new badge with its namesake dinosaur, steel rear bumpers with Flame Red tow hooks, and five-inch dual exhaust tips finished in Gloss Black. Buyers can also opt for full-length rock rails or powder-coated off-road aluminum running boards, as well as exterior graphics.
2027 Ram 1500: Tech and Luxury Packed
Ram packs plenty of equipment on the new TRX. It comes standard with an insane amount of tech and comfort features. These include the UConnect 5, featuring a 14.5-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, dual wireless chargers, and a 10-inch head-up display. Audiophiles can also indulge in their favorite tunes thanks to the standard 900-watt Harman Kardon premium audio system with 19 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer.
A full suite of active safety features comes standard, including adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. For added convenience, you can also opt for Trailer Reverse Steer Control and Hands-Free Active Driving Assist, which includes Level 2+ hands-free driving and lane centering on approved roads.
Since Ram has some of the most luxurious trucks available, the TRX doesn’t skimp on creature comforts. It comes standard with 12-way power, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, as well as heated and ventilated rear seats. Designers made extensive use of carbon fiber, aluminum, suede, and leather on the TRX’s interior. They even borrowed details from the Tungsten trim, like suede-wrapped sun visors and headliner. The interior features red stitching everywhere, while the seats include red embroidered TRX logos, complementing the Ruby Red seatbelts.

2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX: Bloodshot Night Edition Ups the Aggression
To celebrate the return of the TRX, Ram is offering the Bloodshot Night Edition. It features a bespoke, hand-painted Blacktop exterior upper in Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat, coupled with a Flame Red center stripe. Additional details include a unique body side graphic from the front door to the bedside, featuring an integrated TRX logo, a red outline on the interior TRX badge, a glass-encased TRX center console badge, carbon fiber trim with red anodized thread in the weave pattern, and beadlock capable wheels finished in Satin Black and Satin Titatinium beadlock rings.
How much will a 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX cost you? A cool $102,590. Yup, the TRX is now a six-figure truck. Keep in mind that this is before any dealer markups, something you should expect when the truck arrives in the second half of 2026.
