We finally know more details on the second-generation Telluride, including its powertrains. The big news? An electrified powertrain option. That’s right, the 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid has officially arrived. It sports the same bold styling as the standard model. Under the hood, it uses a 2.5-liter turbo-four-based hybrid setup with 329 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. All of that power gets to the front or all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid model’s towing capacity tops out at 4,500 pounds. It also features electronic dynamic torque vectoring control, which improves handling and stability by using the brakes and electric motor.
The 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid joins the standard model, which now features a 2.5-liter turbo-four engine instead of the V6. That engine has 274 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the hybrid, the pure gas variant uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It can also tow 5,000 pounds, just a smidge more than the hybrid can.
What about an off-road-focused model? Kia has you covered, too, in the form of the X-Pro model. This includes a trim-specific suspension setup, 9.1 inches of ground clearance, a Terrain drive mode, all-terrain tires, and an electronic limited-slip differential. It also has a distinct exterior styling, front and rear recovery hooks, and a new Ground View Monitor that shows a composite view of the ground when driving below 6 mph. Finally, the X-Pro also has ground lighting all around to help light up your camp sites.

2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid: Tech and Luxury Powerhouse
In terms of design, the 2027 Kia Telluride doesn’t mess with success. It keeps things evolutionary, leaving all of the familiar design details intact. It also includes details that give it a drag coefficient of 0.30, including flush door handles.
Inside, it’s all modern Kia. Every model, including the Telluride Hybrid, includes premium features like available heated and ventilated front seats, power second row, and heated third row. Like the EV9, the Telluride also includes an available Ergo Motion driver’s seat that includes a massage function. It has front relaxation seats and available dual wireless chargers too.
In terms of infotainment, dual 12.3-inch displays come standard and feature over-the-air update capability, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also included is a generative voice assistant feature that allows for a more natural conversation, and a 14-speaker Meridian premium audio system. For even easier vehicle access, Digital Key 2.0 turns compatible smartphones or an NFC-enabled smart card into your keys, which you can share with up to three people. The SX Prestige trim also includes a digital rearview mirror and a 12-inch head-up display.
On the driver assistance front, all Tellurides include a full suite as standard. Certain models add Highway Driving Assist 2 and lane following assist, giving the 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid and its gas-only sibling more hands-on semi-autonomous capabilities.
Built in West Point, Georgia, the 2027 Kia Telluride lineup arrives in early 2026 with seven trims: LX, S, SX, SX Prestige, X-Line, and X-Pro. Expect Kia to announce pricing closer to the on-sale date.
