Mitsubishi Elevance Concept

Mitsubishi Elevance Concept Is a Bonkers PHEV

At the 2025 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, Mitsubishi showcased what electrification can achieve with the Elevance Concept. This show car takes the plug-in hybrid powertrain and turns it up to 11. Featuring four electric motors, one on each wheel, a gas engine, and a battery, the Elevance highlights the best of Mitsubishi, combining its expertise in electrification and AWD, wrapped in a boxy and muscular package. The front end features an updated take on Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield corporate face that eschews the silver and chrome for LED lighting. It also features a honeycomb pattern and character lines extending across the body from the headlights to the taillights.

The Elevance Concept’s crazy plug-in hybrid setup includes a large capacity battery, allowing it to travel longer distances in all-electric mode. Meanwhile, it features in-wheel electric motors up front for enhanced steering stability. On the other hand, the dual-motor Active Yaw Control at the rear helps to improve power delivery. As a result, the quad-motor Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) setup in the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept helps improve handling across a wide range of driving conditions. Most importantly, the system can control traction at each wheel, allowing for superior off-road capability and body control on uneven terrain. That results in less wobble and sway, as well as a smoother ride that helps reduce any risk of car sickness.

Additionally, the car uses AI technology to analyze surrounding conditions and vehicle status in real-time. In terms of practicality, it offers seating for six plus ample cargo and towing capacities. A large display spans from the driver to front passenger, giving the driver a full view of everything around the car.
