2026 Mercedes-AMG E53

2026 Mercedes-AMG E53 Arrives in Wagon Form!

Looking for a super sedan but need the extra space? Mercedes-Benz has the car for you! Meet the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid wagon. It’s the second body style for this electrified performance car, and in my opinion, the more desirable one! A practical sports car that can hit 60 mph in as little as 3.8 seconds? Yes please!

Powering the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six coupled to an electric motor, a 28.6-kWh battery (21.2-kWh usable), and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The total system output? 577 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. However, in Race Start mode, the output momentarily increases to 604 hp. In all-electric mode, the AMG E53 can travel 41 miles, according to its EPA ratings. Meanwhile, power goes to all four wheels via the AMG Performance 4Matic+ Fully Variable AWD system. In terms of charging, the AMG E53 features a 9.6-kW onboard charger, which can also support DC fast charging at a peak rate of 60 kW. Top speed is limited to 155 mph or 174 mph with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package.

The 2026 AMG E53 comes well-equipped, too. All models include the AMG Ride Control Suspension with adjustable dampers, rear-wheel steering, and AMG Real Performance Sound. It also comes with AMG Dynamic Select with seven drive modes, including hybrid-specific ones, and AMG high-performance composite brakes. Other standard features include a Burmester 4D premium audio system and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of tech, you can add the MUX Superscreen Package, which includes a 12.3-inch front passenger’s screen and a 14.4-inch main touchscreen.

For 2026, a limited-run Edition 1 model will also be available. Finally, this includes a unique Manufaktur Alpine Grey exterior color, contrasting AMG graphics and exterior accents, 21-inch forged AMG cross-spoke alloy wheels, and a model-specific interior.
