Honda just gave its best-selling CR-V a refresh, and no surprise, the big news is the TrailSport trim. This marks the third Honda vehicle to feature the TrailSport trim, following the Pilot and Passport. However, it’s best to treat the 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport as an appearance package. It features a rugged front fascia with a silver skid garnish, orange TrailSport badges on the grille and liftgate, black exterior accents, and Shark Gray 18-inch alloy wheels. The only off-road equipment? Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires, which Honda says improve off-road traction without sacrificing on-road comfort. The CR-V TrailSport also comes standard with AWD and has a grade-exclusive exterior color: Ash Green Metallic.

2026 Honda CR-V: Meaningful Improvements All Around
In addition to the new TrailSport trim, the 2026 CR-V receives some welcome changes. Every model now comes standard with a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging. The EX-L, TrailSport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring also come standard with a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. The range-topping Sport Touring model caps things out with Google built-in and an Individual drive mode for added customizability. Every CR-V includes the Honda Sensing suite as standard. Additionally, every trim except the LX comes standard with blind spot monitor and cross-traffic monitor.
Familiar powertrains carry over on the 2026 Honda CR-V. The LX, EX, and EX-L have a 1.5-liter turbo-four making 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes paired exclusively with a CVT. Meanwhile, the Sport, TrailSport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring use Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, which eschews a transmission altogether. Featuring a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors, this powertrain generates 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. Honda also improved the available AWD system for enhanced traction management below 9 mph.

In terms of EPA fuel economy ratings, CR-Vs equipped with the turbo-four check in at 28/33/30 mpg city/highway/combined on FWD models. Adding AWD drops those ratings to 27/31/29 mpg. On the other hand, the EPA rates the CR-V hybrid at 43/36/40 mpg with FWD or 40/34/37 with AWD. The TrailSport model checks in at 38/33/35 mpg, making it the least efficient of the hybrid models.
Pricing starts at $32,315 for the LX model with FWD. The range-topping Sport Touring, which comes standard with AWD, checks in at $43,645.
