After revealing its design earlier this year, Nissan has officially spilled the details on the 2027 Rogue Hybrid. Arriving in three trims: SV, SR, and Platinum, the Rogue Hybrid introduces Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid system to North America. Now in its third generation, this setup features a new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine designed solely to power a generator. It powers two electric motors and a 1.67-kWh battery pack. The front motor is rated at 202 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the rear unit is good for 134 hp and 144 lb-ft. In total, this system makes 225 hp.
So, how does the Nissan e-Power system operate in the 2027 Rogue Hybrid? Simple. The gas engine powers a generator that creates electricity. It then sends it to the battery, which runs the two electric motors. As a result, the Rogue Hybrid drives more like an EV than a typical hybrid like its competitors because it relies exclusively on the drive motor. Unlike some of its competitors, it features an e-AWD setup, which means the front and rear axles are powered independently. This also continuously adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear wheels for optimum grip and stability. Additionally, the Rogue Hybrid’s e-AWD system can apply the brakes to the inside wheels to improve cornering performance.
In terms of efficiency, Nissan’s internal testing checked in at 40/36/38 mpg city/highway/combined. Although that’s slightly behind the RAV4, it remains ahead of the AWD-equipped Korean competitors and the Honda CR-V.
2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid: Cutting-Edge Tech and Comfort
Nissan’s latest infotainment system comes standard on the 2027 Rogue Hybrid. Most models feature dual 12.3-inch displays with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi2 wireless charging, and four USB-C ports. Optional on the SR trim and standard on the Platinum is a 14.3-inch dual-screen setup. The latter also includes a head-up display, a second wireless charger, and a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system.
On the driver assistance front, every trim comes standard with a full suite of the usual suspects. These include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, and more. ProPilot Assist comes standard, too. It even receives hands-off traffic jam support and automatic lane change capabilities on the Platinum trim and the SR with the SR Technology package. A 3D surround-view camera system is available on the SR trim and standard on the Platinum.
Turning to comfort and convenience, the Rogue Hybrid checks a lot of boxes. Heated front seats and an eight-way power driver’s seat come standard. The Platinum trim elevates the cabin further with perforated and quilted TailorFit uphostery, a power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.
Priced to Compete
All of this comes at a reasonable price, too. The base SV trim comes generously equipped at $37,065. Add the SV Premium package for an extra $2,100 and incldues a panoramic moonroof. Meanwhile, the SR trim, which we see as the value play in the lineup, starts at $39,065. Adding the SR Technology package tacks on $4,000, but remember this adds so much tech and convenience features that it’s a steal. At the top end, the Platinum trim checks in at $45,065. That remains a reasonable value, especially when you consider that so many of its competitors cost more or the same but with fewer features.
