We’re approaching our first anniversary with the 2025 Polestar 3. Since then, the car has received many software updates and a new core computer. On one of our first ownership updates, we noted that upgrade cleared most bugs. What’s left? Some annoying stuff. A new bug makes the HomeLink feature turn off for safety reasons, even though you just hit the button for it. The surround-view camera not available bug remains, too. Same goes for the parking sensors randomly thinking they need service.
To date, those are the three most prominent bugs in our 2025 Polestar 3. You can easily clear them off with a soft reset, which is done by pushing down the pause/play button for around 30 seconds to a minute. On the other hand, you can do a hard reset by pressing and holding down the two down buttons on the steering wheel and the brake pedal. That should do the trick.
As far as the infotainment system goes, it works well now. Recently, YouTube Music froze, and the car suddenly lost its internet connection. We restored both through a soft reset. Unfortunately, it’s never matching the latest interface found in newer Volvos and Polestars like the EX60. That car comes with so much more computing power to run everything and essentially renders early SPA2-based vehicles outdated. The SPA2+ models, like the 2026 and newer EX90 and Polestar 3s, received major upgrades. However, they likely remain behind the SPA3-based EX60.
Despite the little annoyances, we continue to enjoy our Polestar 3. Software 3.0.28 recently added more functional steering wheel buttons to our car (hooray!) and other improvements.
