2027 Toyota Corolla Celebrates Nameplate’s 60th Birthday!

60 years. That’s how long the Corolla nameplate has been around. To celebrate in style, Toyota has unveiled the 2027 Corolla 60th Anniversary Special Edition. This special model commemorates this milestone with some stylish details. On the outside, it includes 60th Anniversary badges on the rear doors and unique 18-inch machined black-finish alloy wheels. However, the latter resembles the old design used on the pre-facelift Corolla Hatchback’s XSE trim. You also have two exterior color options: Ice Cap or the flashy Supersonic Red.

Inside, Toyota gave the 2027 Corolla 60th Anniversary Special Edition some additional pizzazz. This comes in the form of anniversary door sill plates, special floor mats, and two-tone black/red fabric-trimmed front sport seats. Additionally, a 10.5-inch touchscreen comes standard.

Since it’s based on the Hybrid SE trim, the 60th Anniversary Edition uses a hybrid system based on the 1.8-liter I-4 engine with 138 hp. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and wireless smartphone mirroring also come standard. Expect EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings to mirror the standard SE trim at 50/43/47 mpg city/highway/combined.

Pricing for the 2027 Corolla lineup starts at a pretty reasonable point. The base gas LE starts at $24,620. The most expensive model is the Hybrid XLE, which costs $30,840 and comes only with FWD. On the gas side, the XSE tops the lineup at $30,335. Now, you’re wondering how much the 60th Anniversary Special Edition costs. Well, Toyota is revealing it in early 2027, when it goes on sale. Since it’s based on the Hybrid SE, expect it to cost just below $30,000, taking into account the extras that it includes as standard equipment. Act quickly if you want one, though. Toyota is only bringing 2,500 units to the United States, and that’ll likely be gone fast.
