Just when you thought that the gas-powered C-Class is gone, Mercedes-Benz reveals that it lives on for 2027. Essentially a refresh of the current-generation model, it takes styling details from its all-electric sibling. As a result, it features a similar front end design complete with a ton of three-pointed stars embedded in the radiator grille. Even the headlights have LED daytime running lights patterned after the Mercedes-Benz logo!The rear end also has more star patterns, specifically in the taillights. Additionally, the gas C-Class keeps the traditional three-box sedan profile instead of the EV’s coupe-like roofline.
Looking for a sportier look? The gas-powered 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers some cool details like fresh 18-inch alloy wheels and larger 19-inch AMG wheels. You also get two new exterior color options: Miami Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic. For a truly athletic appearance, the AMG Line Plus and Night packages offers details like gloss black exhaust tips and red seatbelts.
Inside, the gas-powered C-Class keeps it conventional. It features 12.3-inch digital cluster and a portrait-style 11.9-inch main touchscreen. The latter now houses the latest MBUX interface powered by MB.OS. It includes AI virtual assistant functionality that combines multiple agents, including ChatGPT and Google Gemini. You can also add a 15-speaker Burmester 3D premium audio system with Dolby Atmos. A full suite of driver assistance features are available. These include goodies like MB Drive Parking Assist 360, Reverse Maneuvering function, and Digital Light, which upgrades the headlights with micro-LED technology and high-performance chip to improve its field of illumination.
Mercedes allows expanded the interior customization options. These include a new Beech Brown interior, Cherry Red accents, and moccasin stitching on the AMG Line leather upholstery. You also have two new interior trim options: Natural Grain Birch Wood and High-Gloss Silver Metallic.

2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Familiar Power
Under the hood, the gas C-Class comes with a familiar engine. It uses an updated 2.0-liter turbo-four with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. It features Mercedes’ second-generation integrated starter-generator that supports the engine with 23 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. To help improve efficiency, the ISG allows the car to coast, recuperate energy, and smooth out the engine stop/start operation. Total system output is 255 hp and 295 lb-ft. An overboost function adds an extra 27 hp for 20 seconds at a time. Additionally, the 48-volt electrical system powers an auxiliary compressor designed to smooth out power delivery.
Mercedes optimized the gas-powered C-Class’ suspension for sharper handling without sacrificing ride comfort. It features a re-tuned adjustable dampers with a four-link front suspension and a multi-link five-link in the rear. Additionally, a drag coefficient of 0.24 helps reduce interior noise levels.
The gas-powered 2027 C-Class arrives goes on sale early next year. Expect pricing to be announced closer to its on-sale date.
