The refreshed 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee has officially arrived and it brings with it several key changes. Its most important update? A new 2.0-liter turbo-four option alongside the existing V6. Part of the Hurricane engine family, this new four-pot generates a healthy 324 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. That’s 162 hp per liter and it only requires regular ol’ 87 octane fuel. Most importantly, 90 percent of the torque happens between 2,600 to 5,600 rpm, giving the SUV a broad power band. According to Jeep, this new engine allows the 2026 Grand Cherokee to tow up to 6,200 pounds, and a driving range of up to 529 miles on a single tank. However, we don’t have official EPA estimates yet.
In addition to the new engine, the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee now comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a reworked cabin. Available features include a 10.25-inch passenger display, Active Driving Assist, and a 19-speaker McIntosh premium audio system. In terms of exterior design, the updated Grand Cherokee includes a revised seven-slot grille, a new headlight design, modified front and rear fascias, and new exterior finishes and trim. It also gains three new exterior colors: Steel Blue, Copper Shino, and Fathom Blue.

2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee: More Standard Features
Jeep continues to offer the Grand Cherokee with three core trims, all of which have sub-trims. The Laredo model carries over with the 3.6-liter V6 and adds more standard features, including a range of driver assistance features like automatic emergency braking and Active Lane Management. Meanwhile, the Laredo X adds niceties like heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate. On the other hand, the Limited trim adds optional features like night vision, a surround view camera, ventilated front seats, and a dual-pane sunroof.
The range-topping Summit includes new oak and liquid chrome accents, Palermo leather, massaging front seats, and an air suspension. Jeep also offers a hands-free driving assistance system on most trims of the 2026 Grand Cherokee. Looking for a third row? The Grand Cherokee L has seating for up to seven. What about an electrified powertrain? Jeep has you covered, too, with the 4xe model, which has 470 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid variant is also the only way to get the off-road-oriented Trailhawk trim.
Expect the 2026 Grand Cherokee to reach dealers before the end of 2025. It’ll be assembled at two the Jefferson and Mack plants in Detroit, Michigan.
