Subaru is the latest automaker to gain access to the Tesla Supercharger Network with the 2026 Solterra. Through the SubaruConnect app, owners of the 2026 Subaru Solterra can now charge at more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America. That means more options and convenience when DC charging on road trips. Best of all, the 2026 Solterra also gains Plug & Charge capability, meaning you simply plug the vehicle in to automatically initiate a session.
Initially, the 2026 Solterra will have access since it comes standard with an NACS port from the factory. Owners of 2023 to 2025 Solterras, which use a CCS1 inlet, need an adapter to charge at Tesla Superchargers. Subaru says that they’ll be able to purchase one as a genuine accessory through their retailers this fall. The automaker will notify owners when the adapter becomes available.

Solterra owners can set up their payment methods for charging and search for stations using the SubaruConnect app. Meanwhile, the 2026 model features a battery preconditioning function that brings the battery up to the right temperature for consistent DC charging times across a wide range of weather conditions. The 2026 model DC charges quicker, too, at 28 minutes to go from 10 to 80% under ideal scenarios. Most importantly, the 2026 Solterra goes farther with an EPA-estimated driving range rating of 288 miles for the base Premium trim or 278 miles for the rest of the lineup. The 2023 to 2025 models have an EPA rating of 227 miles for the Premium or 222 miles for the Limited and Touring.
Expect Subaru’s upcoming EVs, the Trailseeker and Uncharted, to have immediate access to the Tesla Supercharger when they arrive next year. Both of those vehicles also have native NACS ports, giving owners even more public charging options than ever.
