2026 Nissan Murano Gains ProPilot Assist 2.1

The current-generation Nissan Murano debuted last year, boasting plenty of premium features and technologies. However, conspicuously missing was the latest version of Nissan’s ProPilot Assist system. The best-selling Rogue compact SUV had it, but the more upscale Murano got an older 1.1 version? What gives? Well, that’s been remedied with the 2026 Nissan Murano finally receiving the latest and greatest iteration.

However, only the range-topping Platinum trim offers ProPilot Assist 2.1, and it’s part of the Technology Package. Yup, it’s not even standard on the most expensive model. To recap, ProPilot Assist 2.1 allows for hands-free driving on compatible roads, allowing the car to handle steering, acceleration, and braking inputs as long as the driver remains attentive. It also includes a Lane Change Assist function that can recommend and help execute passing maneuvers and getting around slower traffic.

Other changes for the 2026 Nissan Murano include a new Comfort Package for the SL trim. This adds ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, and a hands-free power liftgate. Nissan also dropped the front-drive model, making AWD standard on all trims. The 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder remains the only engine option, making 241 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired exclusively to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the 2026 Murano starts at $42,965 for the base SV trim. The mid-grade SL checks in at $46,560, while the range-topping Platinum costs a cool $51,095. Load one with every bell and whistle, and you’re looking at nearly $55,000 for a Murano. Considering the features you get, including dual 12.3-inch displays, a head-up display, and a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system, it’s not a bad value. SL and Platinum models also include Google Built-In, giving it native Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other handy functions from the Google ecosystem.
