Nissan debuted its new Elgrand minivan at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. Essentially a production version of the Hyper Tourer concept car, this premium minivan goes all in on progressive looks and luxury appointments. Additionally, it stays true to Nissan’s Timeless Japanese Futurism design language. The front fascia, for instance, has the same pattern as the concept it’s based on. Only this time it’s complemented by a light bar and small LED light squares. Meanwhile, the back end complements the boxy side profile with an extended roof spoiler and an LED rear light bar made with a bunch of pixels.
Inside, the Nissan Elgrand goes all in on luxury. It features available lounge seating with the zero-gravity second-row captain’s chairs. TailorFit leather, wood grain accents, and Kumiko-inspired patterns give the cabin an upscale feel. On the other hand, dual 14.3-inch displays add to its techy feel.

Available 64-color ambient lighting and 22-speaker Bose premium audio further enhance the Elgrand’s techy feel. In terms of driver assistance tech, the Elgrand features an updated version of Nissan’s ProPilot Assist system with hands-off driving capability at low speeds. Owners can upgrade to ProPilot Assist 2.0, which enables hands-free highway driving and lane change assistance.
Powering the new Elgrand is the third-generation e-Power hybrid system. It features a new purpose-built engine that acts only as a generator and a modular 5-in-1 electric powertrain. Nissan says this helps improve efficiency and performance, while reducing powertrain noise. Also available is the updated e-4ORCE AWD system that helps improve handling and stability. By using the rear electric motor to suppress pitching during acceleration and deceleration, the Elgrand promises a smoother, more comfortable ride that reduces car sickness.
The Elgrand goes on sale in Japan first in summer 2026, with more markets to follow.
