Lexus has announced the 2027 GX and it receives small updates. Every model now comes standard with SmartAccess keyless entry for all four doors and the liftgate. Additionally, the Luxury, Luxury+, and Overtrail+ trims now come standard with ventilated outboard rear seats.
Otherwise, the 2027 Lexus GX remains unchanged. It still comes standard with full-time 4WD, a Torsen center locking differential, and up to 9.84 inches of ground clearance. Overtrail models also include an electronically controlled locking rear differential and the Electronic Kinematic Dynamic Suspension System. Certain models also offer the Adaptive Variable Suspension as an option. The usual gamut of off-road driving assists like Multi-Terrain Select and Multi-Terrain Monitor are also available. A 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 with 349 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque remains the only engine available. It’s paired exclusively to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Max towing capacity on select variants tops out at around 9,000 lbs. What about the expected hybrid option? Still nowhere to be found. Hopefully, it joins the lineup very, very soon.
For maximum luxury, the GX offers a wealth of goodies. These include second row captain’s chairs, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and a 21-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound system. Meanwhile, the infotainment system features a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. You can also subscribe to the Toyota/Lexus Connected Services suite, which opens access to features like Digital Key and Traffic Jam Assist. Every 2027 GX comes with Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 as standard.
Pricing for the well-equipped base GX 550 Premium starts at $69,085. Moving up to the Premium+ bumps the sticker price up to $73,400. Want the posh Luxury trims or the rugged Overtrail variants, get ready to pay up between $76,730 to nearly $86,000.
