2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 First Look: More V8s, More Tech

Chevrolet has revealed the 2027 Silverado 1500, featuring a full lineup that ranges from off-road-oriented models to the premium High Country and the familiar Work Truck and Custom models. In terms of design, the new truck evolves the attention-grabbing look, giving it a similar appearance to the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models. It features a new front fascia complete with LED headlights and unique lighting signatures on every trim.

Inside, the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 goes all-in on tech. It now includes a 16.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.2-in. digital cluster on all models. Meanwhile, the ZR2 and High Country add an 11.5-inch passenger display and a head-up display. Dual wireless chargers, a Multi-Flex center console, and a whole gamut of trailering technologies are also available. General Motors’ Super Cruise hands-free semi-autonomous driver assistance system is also available.

As far as engine choices go, the 2027 Silverado 1500 offers four. The base unit is an enhanced 2.7-liter turbo-four. You can also upgrade to either a 5.7-liter or 6.6-liter V8 engine, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six. Furthermore, all engine options come paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: Ready for Anything

At the top of the lineup, the Silverado ZR2 returns as the flagship off-road model. It features standard front and rear E-lockers, Multimatic DSSV dampers, jounce dampers, a two-inch suspension lift, and 35-inch MT tires. The ZR2 also includes an enhanced power dome hood, Torch Red interior accents and seat belts, and carbon fiber trim. Want more capability? Choose the ZR2 Bison Edition developed in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles. It includes front and rear AEV bumpers, rocker protection, 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels, additional skid plates, an AEV rear badge, and all-weather floor liners.

For those looking for something a little less hardcore, the Trail Boss and Custom Trail Boss have you covered. It features 34-inch MT tires, a two-inch suspension lift, and a model-specific off-road hood. Inside, the Trail Boss includes Torch Red seat belts, fabric seat inserts, and custom perforations. Drivers in search of just the essentials can go for the Custom trim. That now includes 20-inch machine-faced wheels and dual exhaust tips. Meanwhile, the Work Truck continues as the purpose-built fleet and commercial model. Buyers can configure it for construction, utilities, municipal, and commercial fleets. The Silverado Work Truck features a simple interior and a full range of new tech, including connectivity features designed to support fleet management.

Looking for something more luxurious? The Silverado 1500 has a second range-topping model that gives you just that: the High Country. This variant includes 22-inch alloy wheels, dark trim elements, and polished detailing. Additionally, the High Country includes a Tritan Satin grille to distinguish it from the rest of the lineup and a panoramic sunroof, a first for the Silverado 1500. To further emphasize its premium positioning, the Silverado High Country includes Natural Tan seat belt accents, real wood trim, Tritan Satin accents, and microfiber suede trim.
