Nissan has expanded the Frontier lineup for 2027 with the introduction of the new Sport Edition. Designed to cater to buyers going off the beaten path, the Sport Edition brings design cues inspired by the PRO-4X down to a lower trim. It features black 17-inch alloy wheels, an aluminum skid plate, all-terrain tires, LED fog lights, and front accent lighting.
The 2027 Nissan Frontier Sport Edition builds on the SV trim. It’s also available with either RWD or 4WD configurations. Additionally, it comes with side mirrors, a lower front fascia, and a grille finished in black. Sport badges adorn the side of the bed and tailgate. Inside, it features black upholstery with yellow contrast stitching.

The rest of the Frontier lineup receives minor changes. A new exterior color, Alpine Metallic, is now available. Meanwhile, the PRO Convenience package now includes a faster Qi2 wireless charger with a magnet to keep smartphones securely in place. On the PRO-X and PRO-4X, the Moonroof package is now available in conjunction with the Convenience package. Furthermore, the SV trim has an available All-Terrain Tire package.
Everything else carries over unchanged. The 2027 Frontier continues to use a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 with 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. Just like last year’s model, a nine-speed automatic also returns as the only transmission available. Max towing capacity checks in at 7,150 lbs. on certain configurations, while payload tops out at 1,590 lbs. All models come standard with a full suite of driver assistance features. This includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and more. Nissan also continues to offer two cab styles: King Cab and Crew Cab. However, the former only comes in the S trim. Additionally, the Frontier had two bed length options: 5 feet and 6 feet.
