2026 Dodge Durango R/T 392 Adds More Muscle

The Dodge Durango lineup expands once again, this time with the introduction of the R/T 392. This marks the first time the 6.4-liter V8 comes standard in the R/T trim, effectively giving it 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 32 percent and 21 percent for horsepower and torque, respectively. Compared to the outgoing 2025 Durango R/T, which had a 5.7-liter V8, the R/T 392 can hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. As before, the only transmission available is an eight-speed automatic. It now features a manual mode, and the driver can shift via paddle shifters or the electronic shifter.

AWD comes standard on the 2026 Dodge Durango R/T 392. The system has a rear bias and can continuously vary the torque split between the front and rear axles based on driving demands. To commemorate the return of the 6.4-liter V8, the Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition brings with it additional performance features. These include Brembo brakes, a high-performance exhaust, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and adaptive damping high-performance suspension. SRT performance driver modes also come standard. Meanwhile, towing capacity checks in at 8,700 pounds.

For a more upscale feel, the Launch Edition Premium model adds a whole host of extras.
