2026 Ram 1500 Back Country Splits the Difference

The 2026 Ram 1500 grows its off-road-focused models once again with the addition of the BackCountry. Slotting between the Warlock and the Rebel, it brings another take to the rugged truck formula. So, what does the extra $2,995 over the Big Horn 4×4 trim it’s based on include? A lot.

Opting for the 2026 Ram 1500 BackCountry adds plenty of function and off-road capability. It includes a 1-inch suspension lift, heavy-duty shock absorbers, extra skid plates, and a rear electronic limited-slip differential that can function as an anti-spin when disengaged. Additionally, 18-inch wheels with 32-inch off-road tires come standard, along with front tow hooks and Selec-Speed off-road cruise control.

In terms of design, the BackCountry adds contrasting black fender flares, body-colored grille surrounds and accents, and a contrasting lower body in Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat. Satin Black exterior badges and on the instrument panel also come standard. The lighting bezels also come finished in Satin Black. Inside, the truck includes vinyl seats with alloy-printed mesh inserts, rubber all-weather floor mats, and a MOLLE panel seatback storage system.

The Level 1 equipment group adds more convenience features. These include heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Stepping up to the Level 2 equipment group adds a seven-inch gauge cluster display, the UConnect 5 interface with a 12-inch touchscreen, dual wireless chargers, and a 10-way power driver’s seat.

Engine options include the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. It also features the eTorque 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. Additionally, owners can choose the standard output Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbo I-6 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both come paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

So, how much will the Ram 1500 BackCountry cost? A lot. $62,410 to be exact with the Level 1 equipment group.
