Barely two model years in, BMW just gave the X3 some nice updates for 2027. The biggest news is the M50 xDrive model’s power upgrade. Its 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine now makes a whopping 437 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. That’s the same as the recently revealed M350 xDrive sedan! As a result, the X3 M50 can now sprint to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. However, we think that number is conservative, especially with BMW’s long record of underrating every vehicle it makes. Like its sedan sibling, the X3 M50 features a 48-volt mild hybrid setup that uses an electric motor as a starter generator and contributes 17 hp.
BMW also made extra changes to the 2027 X3. The M50 model has an enhanced exhaust system with a deeper and more resonant sound. Inside, every X3 has a new stitching pattern for the dash and a PVC Softskin surface in front of the center display. The center console and interior door handles have ambient lighting now, too. Additionally, the X3 has a new glovebox opener and stainless steel cargo sill plates.

Looking to murder out your X3? That’s what the new Black package does. Available on the X3 M50, it adds 22-inch Jet Black alloy wheels, high-gloss-black-finished M Sport brake calipers with a monochrome M logo, and high-gloss black exterior badges with silver outlines. Meanwhile, the interior features black Alcantara accents and embossed M logos on the headrests, and blue contrast stitching. Additionally, the Black package adds aluminum-carbon structure M interior trim, M seatbelts, and black floor mats with a flag in the M colors. Dark Silver door sill finishers with a black M logo are also included.
Pricing for the 2027 BMW X3 M50 xDrive starts at $68,850 and the Black Package costs $3,800 extra.
