2027 Toyota Corolla Cross Reduces Hybrid Lineup

The Toyota Corolla Cross arrives for 2027 with a smaller lineup made up of five trims. That’s because Toyota discontinued the Hybrid S trim, the original entry point to the electrified variant. Now, the Hybrid SE serves as the base hybrid variant with a starting price of $33,010. Hybrid models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder-based system with 196 hp, and e-AWD as standard equipment. That yields an impressive 46/39/42 mpg city/highway/combined rating from the EPA.

Most importantly, the 2027 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid comes generously equipped. It comes with four USB-C ports, wireless charging, 17-inch alloy wheels, Smart Key, a sport-tuned suspension, and blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Additionally, you can upgrade the standard eight-inch touchscreen to a 10.5-inch unit. Both also come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available as part of the Cold Weather package, while a moonroof returns as a standalone option.

For those looking for a traditional setup, the Corolla Cross offers the L, LE, and XLE in pure gas variants. Prices start at $27,130 for the base model and increase to just over $32,000 for the XLE. Gas variants use a 2.0-liter I-4 with 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, which is paired to a CVT. FWD and AWD variants are available on the gas-only model. The latter also swaps the torsion beam rear suspension for a multi-link setup.

Higher trims of the Corolla Cross also include features like front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, a power liftgate, a nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster. Two-tone variants are also available with four of the exterior color options. However, that’ll cost you nearly $40,000, which definitely falls on the expensive side.
