The 2027 Kia Sportage Hybrid lineup expands with more FWD models. Originally available on the base LX trim, the S and EX trims now offer FWD, in addition to AWD. That expands the lineup and makes this class-leading compact SUV more attainable. Prices start at $32,085 for the base LX trim. The S and EX FWD models cost $32,785 and $33,785, respectively. In typical Kia fashion, both offer exceptional value. The Hybrid X-Line model also gains a new Technology package. It adds a surround-view camera, the blind spot view monitor, built-in navigation, a 12.3-in. digital cluster, Highway Driving Assist, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, side parking sensors, and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist – Reverse.
For 2027, the Kia Sportage Hybrid will come from two factories. In addition to Korea, the Hyundai Motor Group’s Metaplant in Savannah, Georgia, will also build the SUV. As before, the Sportage Hybrid couples a 1.6-liter turbo-four with an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery, and a six-speed automatic transmission. Total system output checks in at 232 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. The EPA rates the FWD models at 40/42/41 mpg city/highway/combined, while AWD variants check in at 35/36/35 mpg. Prices for the range-topping SX Prestige check in at a reasonable $42,185.
A plug-in hybrid variant is also available. For 2027, the Sportage PHEV carries over unchanged and comes standard with AWD. Like the standard hybrid, the plug-in hybrid uses the same powertrain, just with a higher-capacity 13.8-kWh battery. Total power output stands at 268 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. The Sportage PHEV can also travel in all-electric mode for 34 miles, according to the EPA. When driven as a conventional hybrid, it has an EPA rating of 35/36/36 mpg. Prices start at $42,085 for the X-Line trim or $48,885 for the X-Line Prestige.
