Hot on the heels of the redesigned Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 promises more luxury and capability for its latest generation. Featuring an evolution of the outgoing truck’s exterior design, the new model doubles down on the premium feel, all while maintaining its unmistakable presence. From its signature LED headlights to its lighting animations and a more vertical grille, the Sierra 1500 looks stunning. It’s a bold, confident vehicle, especially with the optional quad exhaust tips.
Inside, the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 features plenty of luxury touches. These include real wood trim, forged wood on the Denali Ultimate, and an available panoramic sunroof. GMC also says that the crew cab variant has best-in-class front head and leg room. However, it did not provide any measurements. Meanwhile, the new MultiPro center console adds functionality and storage, allowing for an extended work surface when needed.
On the tech front, the Denali Ultimate goes all-in on screens. It comes standard with a 16.3-inch touchscreen, an 11.5-inch front passenger display, and a 12.2-inch digital cluster. Want even more? This trim also has a 15-inch head-up display. In total, that’s 60 inches’ worth of combined displays. Additionally, the center screen even has a hidden storage area. Meanwhile, an available 16-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system is available, as is GM’s Super Cruise driver assistance technology.
2027 GMC Sierra 1500: Power and Capability
For 2027, the Sierra 1500 has four engine options, including an upgraded TurboMax four-cylinder and Duramax diesel. The big news this year? The sixth-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter small-block V8 mills, both of which are also available on the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. A 10-speed automatic remains the only transmission available.
Looking for off-road capability? The AT4X trim adds that. It features 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers, and front and rear e-locking differentials. AT4X models also include unique details like a trim-specific hood design, a 2-inch suspension lift, and a new front fascia. Inside, a Timber Mahogany colorway comes standard along with a flat-bottom steering wheel. Other details include stainless steel door speaker grilles and unique perforation patterns, piping, quilting, and embroidery. Need maximum off-road capability? The AEV Edition package returns for 2027, too.
The 2027 Sierra 1500 arrives at the end of the year. Pricing will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
