2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Revives Trailhawk and Overland Models

Jeep has revealed the 2027 Grand Cherokee and it marks the return of two familiar variants: the Trailhawk and Overland. Both variants use a 2.0-liter turbo-four witt 324 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic remains the only transmission available. Both models also include Off-Road Pages complete with dynamic gauges, pitch and roll graphics, Selec-Terrain management, and suspension settings.

So, what does the 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhaw add? A lot of off-road-oriented goodies. These include the Quadra-Trac II 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case, Quadra-Lift air suspension with semi-active dampers, and a rear electronic limited-slip differential. The Selec-Terrain traction control system also adds a Rock mode. Other upgrades include a whole gamut of skid plates and an integrated TrailCam off-road camera with dynamic tire path and rear camera washer. As a result, it features improved approach, departure, and breakover angles, as well as 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. The Trailer Tow package also comes standard, allowing the Trailhawk model to tow 6,200 lbs. In terms of design, the Trailhawk includes red tow hooks and Global Black Nappa leather seats with red contrast stitching.

Meanwhile, the Overland trim goes for a more premium approach. It still retains the Quadra-Lift air suspension with semi-active dampers and Quadra-Trac II 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case. Hill Descent Control also comes standard. Most of the Overland’s tweaks lean heavily towards appearance changes. These include bright tow hooks, 21-inch machined alloy wheels, and Silver Silk exterior accents. Inside, the Overland includes heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, Nappa leather upholstery, and Satin Chrome acccents.

The Trailhawk and Overland go into production later this year at Stellantis’ Detroit Assembly Complex – Mack. Pricing will be announced at a later date, but expect both to cost a pretty penny.
