The hottest GR Corolla has officially arrived. The 2026 Toyota GRMN Corolla serves as the pinnacle of performance for the track-inspired hot hatch. This fire-breathing compact benefits from motorsport and development work at the famous Nurburgring race track in Germany. It also draws from the lessons learned through competitive series, including Super Taikyu. The result? A super spicy compact that’s ready to take on every challenge on or off the circuit.
So, what does the 2026 Toyota GRMN Corolla get? A lot. It features performance parts developed for enhanced road holding. The hood ducts, front side spoilers, and rear wing incorporate know-how gained from racing a hydrogen-powered GR Corolla on the Super Taikyu series. On the suspension front, it receives specific front and rear monotube shock absorbers with rebound springs. This improves inner wheel traction during cornering and enhances high-speed cornering performance. Meanwhile, the standard bronze 18-inch forged wheels come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires to improve cornering stability and braking performance. The GR-FOUR AWD now provides optimal rear torque distribution during straight-line driving, enhancing stability at the onset of steering input at high speeds.

What about the engine, you ask? It, too, benefited from motorsports. The development team optimized the characteristics of the 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder and focused on increasing torque between 4,000 and 4,600 rpm, crucial for accelerating out of corners. As a result, it sees a slight increase in torque to 302 lb-ft, 7 lb-ft more than the standard GR Corolla. However, horsepower stays put at 300. The GRMN Corolla also includes an intercooler spray system to help maintain stable engine speeds during continuous full-throttle driving.
2026 Toyota GRMN Corolla: Lighter and Less Frills
Think of the GRMN Corolla as the next evolution of the old Morizo Edition. That model features unique tweaks that set it apart from other GR Corolla models. The GRMN Corolla adds a bit more flair to that. It comes standard with semi-bucket sport seats finished in black and red Brin Naub suede, complete with GR brand detailing. Cast iron black-painted accents complement the splashes of red. To cut weight, Toyota removed the rear seats on the GRMN Corolla. As a result, it weighs 66 pounds less, improving the power-to-weight ratio. It also features Morizo’s signature on the dash with carbon ornamentation and front pillar trim finished in brushed metal. Two exterior colors will be available: Zero Gravy and Gravel.
As for pricing, Toyota will announce it at a later date. Considering all of the upgrades, expect the GRMN Corolla to cost more than $50,000, especially if Toyota limits production numbers.
