Genesis to Launch 22 New Models Through 2030

Hot on the heels of Hyundai’s product offensive, its luxury division, Genesis, followed suit at the 2026 New York Auto Show. Through 2030, the Korean brand plans to introduce 22 all-new or significantly updated models. These include SUVs and cars, ranging from core models to new trims. It also disclosed that this includes the introduction of new powertrains.

This announcement shows that Hyundai Motor Group intends to take on every segment of the auto industry. With a full lineup of gas and battery-electric models, Genesis appears poised to introduce hybrids very soon. The most important new powertrain option? The Extended Range Electric Vehicle or EREV. Essentially a series-style plug-in hybrid with a massive battery supported by a gas engine generator, it promises the best of both worlds. José Muñoz, Genesis president and CEO, and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, noted that the luxury brand will have a model for everyone.

Most importantly, this announcement isn’t part of the initial announcement earlier. It builds on that. The original commitment will see Hyundai Motor Group invest $26 billion in the United States. This comprehensive initiative includes a new state-of-the-art steel mill in Louisiana and a robotics innovation hub. It aims to strengthen Hyundai Motor Group’s footprint in the region through new models, advanced powertrains, and expanded production initiatives. Additionally, Hyundai and Genesis aim to have broader localization and manufacturing goals in the United States.

When taken as a whole, this product offensive from the two Hyundai Motor Group brands goes beyond new models. It’s a commitment to the United States and North America as a whole. Through increased production footprint and parts localization, Hyundai Motor Group can position itself for sustained growth, greater flexibility, and better product alignment with the region. We’re excited to see what both brands have coming!
