Nissan just discontinued the Ariya in the U.S. However, the rest of the world can still buy one and it just got a mid-cycle refresh. In terms of design, the Ariya receives an updated front fascia with a body-colored insert and fresh LED daytime running lights. It also receivess fresh new 20-inch alloy wheels made of aluminum and resin, as well as a new two-tone exterior: Plasma Green with a black roof. Inside, the Ariya now offers a new white and green leather interior color, which comes complemented by grey accents.
The biggest changes for the Nissan Ariya lies in the infotainment system. Like the new Leaf, it now comes with Google Built-In. That means native Google Maps and Google Assistant in the car for an even better multimedia experience. Additionally, the door-to-door function on the Nissan app allows you to share a route with the onboard navigation sytem. It also tells you how much charge you’ll have when you arrive at the destination and whether you need to stop or not. Moreover, Navi-Link Battery Preconditioning allows you to bring the battery to the ideal temperature when a charging station is selected as a destination. That means quicker DC charging times on the road.

Nissan Ariya: Is It Coming Back?
Other changes that came from the new Leaf include vehicle-to-load capability. That means the Ariya can now power small appliances and devices. Simply plug in the adapter to use up to 1500 watts for your needs. Nissan also softened the suspension on Japanese market models for a more comfortable ride. Meanwhile, the new Intelligent Distance Control automatically controls the distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
For the meantime, the refreshed Ariya will only be for Japan, Europe, and other global markets. It’s not clear whether Nissan intends to bring this EV back stateside.
