2027 Chevrolet Bolt

2027 Chevrolet Bolt First Look: Freshener Than Ever

After a short hiatus, the Chevrolet Bolt is back! However, think of this more as a refresh rather than a redesign. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt receives a new front and rear fascia with new exterior lights. Everything else, from the shape to the alloy wheel designs, is identical to the old Bolt EUV. That also means the standard car has officially been killed off, leaving only the larger model to soldier on with the Bolt name.

When it arrives early next year, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will start at $29,990 for the initial launch model, making it a strong value. The base LT trim starts at $28,995. Every model comes with a 65-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery and a standard NACS charging port. It also features quicker DC charging, going from 10 to 80% in around 26 minutes at a peak rate of 150 kW. A single electric motor with 210 hp turns the front wheels.

In terms of range, Chevrolet projects the 2027 Bolt to have a 255-mile range. That’s only 8 miles more than the old EUV. However, based on our previous experience with both outgoing Bolt models, we suspect that’s conservative.

2027 Chevrolet Bolt: Sportier Looks, Techier Cabin

Like most EVs from General Motors, the Bolt comes standard with Google Built-In housed in an 11.3-inch touchscreen. That also means no Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Boo. At least it includes native Google Maps, Google Assistant, and a wide range of apps available on the Google Play Store. An 11-inch digital gauge cluster and a full suite of active safety features complement that infotainment system. Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driver assistance system, returns as an option on the Bolt. This time around, Super Cruise syncs with Google Maps to show you which sections of your drive allow for hands-free operation. It can even help you navigate to the correct lane at exit ramps and interchanges!

Wrapped around all of that fresh tech is an updated style courtesy of the new RS trim. This variant features a unique grille badge, gloss black alloy wheels and roof rails, and red interior stitching. It also features a trim-specific color: Atomic Yellow. In total, the new Bolt offers seven exterior colors, while its standard 17-inch alloy wheels come in three finishes. Meanwhile, it keeps the value proposition strong by offering features like heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and wireless charging. The revised interior layout also includes more space for small items like smartphones, enhancing its usability. With the rear seats up, the Bolt has 16.2 cubic feet of cargo space, which you can expand to 56.3 cubic feet.

The 2027 Bolt arrives in the first quarter of 2026 and will be assembled at GM’s Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
