2026 Subaru BRZ Drops Premium Trim

Well. That didn’t last long. The 2026 Subaru BRZ officially drops the base Premium trim from its lineup, leaving only the Limited, tS, and Series models.Yellow special edition. According to Subaru, the Premium trim accounted for fewer than 1 in 10 sales in 2025, resulting in its discontinuation. Every BRZ is powered by a 2.4-liter flat-four with 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual comes standard, while a six-speed automatic is available only on the Limited trim. All BRZs also include a standard Torsen limited-slip differential.

That means the Limited trim now serves as the entry point in the 2026 Subaru BRZ lineup. It comes standard with adaptive headlights, heated front seats, Ultrasuede upholstery, and 18-inch matte gray wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 performance tires. Meanwhile, the tS model adds blue interior accents, black side mirrors, and sharkfin antenna, and a slew of STI badges. The BRZ tS also includes STI-tuned Hitachi dampers and Brembo brakes with four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. Finally, the BRZ Series.Yellow comes exclusively in the Sunrise Yellow exterior color, black exterior badges, and matte-black 18-inch alloy wheels. It also receives all the go-fast goodies since it’s based on the tS trim and a nice helping of yellow stitching.

Pricing starts at $37,055 for the Limited trim with the manual transmission. Add $850 to that if you go for the automatic. On the other hand, the BRZ tS starts at $39,555, while the Series.Yellow checks in at $40,555, with both coming exclusively with a six-speed manual. The latter costs an additional $1,000 more than the trim it’s based on. Those who want the limited-edition model should act fast, though. Subaru is only building 350 units of the Series.Yellow to the U.S., or 150 units less than the Series.Purple.
