The 2026 Mazda CX-50 arrives with an expanded lineup, thanks to the Meridian Edition gaining a second engine option. That’s right, the rugged-looking model now offers two powertrain options. In addition to the existing 2.5-liter turbo-four, which makes 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque on premium (227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular), the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter is now available, too. However, this engine only produces 187 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque, significantly lower than the turbo models. Both come paired exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission and include standard AWD.
Regardless of the chosen engine, the 2026 Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition has a distinct look. It features 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires and black roof rails. Three exterior color choices are available: Jet Black Mica, Polymetal Gray, and Zircon Sand. Inside, the 2.5 S Meridian Edition features black partial leatherette seats. Meanwhile, the Turbo equivalent features Terracotta leather seats. The Turbo Meridian Edition also includes gloss black exterior badges, a side rocker garnish, and hood graphics. Plus, it comes with heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and built-in navigation with OTA updates.

For those in search of something more efficient, check out the CX-50 Hybrid, which also comes standard with AWD. This variant uses the fourth-generation Toyota Hybrid System from the fifth-generation RAV4. It uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired to three electric motors, a planetary gear set, and a nickel-metal-hydride battery. Total system output is 219 hp. However, even in the range-topping Premium Plus trim, the CX-50 Hybrid does not include the surround view camera and other driver assistance technologies. Those require selecting the Turbo Premium Plus.
2026 Mazda CX-50: Priced Accordingly

Meanwhile, the five premium exterior colors add $595 to the sticker price, while the available white interior costs $200 extra. Built at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant in Huntsville, Alabama, the 2026 Mazda CX-50 is on sale now.
