Subaru’s third battery-electric vehicle has arrived. The 2026 Subaru Uncharted slots below the Solterra and Trailseeker in the lineup, all while packing a distinct character. If it looks familiar, that’s because this pint-sized electric SUV is closely related to the recently revealed Toyota C-HR. However, Subaru changed a few design details to distinguish it from its sibling. For instance, the front fascia looks identical to the Solterra, while the rear has thinned LED taillights.
2026 Subaru Uncharted: Small Yet Mighty
On sale in early 2026, the Subaru Uncharted has three trims: Premium FWD, Sport, and GT. Every model comes standard with a 74.7-kWh battery pack, allowing this small crossover to travel over 300 miles per charge on the Premium FWD model. Meanwhile, the Sport and GT trims, which come standard with AWD, are good for up to 290 miles.
In terms of power, the dual-motor AWD models lead the lineup with 338 hp. As a result, it can hit 60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds according to Subaru. On the other hand, the Premium FWD model packs 221 hp. To give the 2026 Uncharted a sportier driving feel, Subaru’s engineers took to the dirt, gravel, and snow. Together with the extensive use of lightweight yet rigid high-strength steel, this compact crossover promises dynamic handling and improved straight-line stability. AWD models also include Subaru’s X-Mode for tackling trails and unpaved roads.
When it’s time to plug in and juice up, the Uncharted features a standard NACS or Tesla-style charge port. With a peak DC charge rate of 150 kW, it can go from 10 to 80% in around 30 minutes in cold weather conditions thanks to a standard battery preconditioning function. As for home charging, the Uncharted comes with an 11-kW onboard charger.

Abundant Tech and Comfort
Like the Solterra and Trailseeker, the Uncharted comes standard with a 14-inch touchscreen. It runs a Subaru-skinned version of Toyota’s latest multimedia system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, too, as are dual wireless charging pads up front and two USB charge ports in the rear.
Every trim includes the EyeSight suite of driver assistance features and blind spot monitor as standard equipment. Move up to higher trims and you’ll gain access to features like a surround view camera system, Traffic Jam Assist, and Lane Change Assist. Subaru’s DriverFocus system, which monitors the driver and helps ensure they remain attentive to the road, also comes standard.
In terms of comfort and convenience, the Uncharted brings plenty. Heated front seats, a power liftgate, and interior ambient lighting are all standard features. Higher trims add features like a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, 20-inch alloy wheels, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and heated rear seats.
A Growing Segment
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted joins a growing segment of small electric crossovers. Currently, this class only has the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia Niro EV. However, in the latter half of 2025, the Nissan Leaf joins this crop. The Uncharted and its cousin, the Toyota C-HR, are expected to arrive in early 2026. Later that year, the reborn Chevrolet Bolt arrives, and Kia may also bring the EV3 over to slot below the EV6.
