The 2027 SEMA Show will serve as the stage for the latest Mitsubishi Outlander variant: the 2028 Diamond Trail Edition. It’s the next step for the brand’s Momentum 2030 strategy, which included several models like the Eclipse Sportback.
Featuring standard Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) AWD, the 2028 Mitsubishi Outlander Diamond Trail Edition is all about maximizing off-road capability. It features a Rock drive mode, which uses the brakes to minimize wheel spin and enhance traction. Inside, the Diamond Trail Edition’s touchscreen shows additional graphics. These include wheel slip and traction control intervention. Additionally, the surround-view camera system works up to 18.6 mph. Furthermore, Hill Descent Control automatically turns on when the driver selects Rock mode.
On the outside, the Outlander Diamond Trail Edition has purposeful design tweaks. These include a black Dynamic Shield grille, black headlight trim, and redesigned bumpers. As a result, the approach angle improves from 18.3 to 20.5 degrees. Meanwhile, the departure angle improves to 23.1 degrees from 22.2.
The Diamond Trail Edition also includes unique overfenders and 18-inch black alloy wheels with all-terrain tires. Raised roof rails also come standard for easy roof rack installation. A new exterior color called Trail Green Metallic debuts with the Diamond Trail Edition. You can also opt for a two-tone version with a white roof. The interior continues the trail theme. It features dark grey water-repellent upholstery with khaki stitching. Dark chrome and satin and matte black trim complement the the cabin’s unique theme.
As part of its 2026 SEMA display, Mitsubishi will feature three Outlanders on the show floor. This includes a stock Diamond Trail Edition complete with genuine Mitsubishi accessories. It also features a color-matched Thule roof box. Additionally, two modified models will also be on display, featuring BF Goodrich all-terrain tires and a lifted suspension.
