2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid Adds X-Line Treatment to EX Trim

Hot on the heels of its gas-only sibling, the 2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid receives some welcome changes for the new model year. The biggest addition is the new X-Line EX variant. It takes the EX trim and adds some cool design upgrades. These include gloss-black-finished alloy wheels and gloss-black exterior accents. Inside, all X-Line models include machined wood inlays on the instrument panel and doors.

Meanwhile, the X-Line SX Prestige trim adds even more niceties to the 2027 Kia Sorento. A panoramic sunroof, a Bose premium audio system, and second-row captain’s chairs all come standard on the range-topping model. For 2027, a head-up display is now standard on the X-Line SX Prestige too. All 2027 models also receive HEV badges on the tailgate. On the other hand, Pale Gray replaces Steel Gray.

Under the hood, the 2027 Sorento Hybrid uses the Hyundai Motor Group’s familiar turbo hybrid setup. It couples a 1.6-liter turbo-four with a six-speed automatic, an electric motor, and a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery. Total system output checks in at 232 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The EPA rates the front-drive models at 37/36/37 mpg city/highway/combined. Drop that down to 32/35/34 mpg if you opt for AWD.

Prices start at $40,585 for the base EX trim, which is nicely equipped. At the top of the lineup, the X-Line SX Prestige costs $49,085. Every model comes standard with Kia’s Drive Wise driver-assistance suite and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims also include digital key capability, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster. Additionally, the X-Line SX Prestige trim adds driver assistance features like the surround-view camera, evasive steering assist, and front/rear/side parking sensors. Furthermore, it adds Highway Driving Assist 2, a semi-autonomous driving assistant system.
