2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Brings Added Off-Road Capability

The Trailhawk badge finally returns to the Jeep Cherokee for 2027. This off-road-oriented model adds capability, including improved ground clearance. Versus the standard Cherokee, the Trailhawk has an approach angle of 28.8 degrees, a departure angle of 31.8 degrees, and a breakover angle of 21.9 degrees. Meanwhile, its water-fording depth is 24 inches, while ground clearance rises to nine inches thanks to a one-inch suspension lift. The Cherokee Trailhawk also features unique spring and damper tuning, which gives a 45-point Ramp Travel Index improvement over other trims. That means improved suspension flexibility and articulation.

Every 2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk features the Active Drive II 4×4 system. It features a lock mode and two transfer cases. The latter has a 2.92 low-range ratio and 37.5:1 crawl ratio. For added protection, the Trailhawk model also includes skid plates to protect the front axle, wiring, fuel tank, and hybrid traction battery. Additionally, Selec-Terrain mode has five settings: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock. Under the hood, the Cherokee Trailhawk uses the same 1.6-liter turbo-four hybrid system as the other trims, producing the same 210 hp and 230 lb-ft of torque.

In terms of design tweaks, the Cherokee Trailhawk has plenty. It features red tow hooks, an anti-glare hood graphic, a model-specific front fascia, and Trailhawk badging in the rear. On the other hand, 17-inch alloy wheels come standard, wrapped in 245/65R17 Nexen Rodian ATX all-terrain tires. Inside, Trailhawk models have Mantis Green upholstery with red stitching and an embossed logo, a Black Spun Aluminum-finished rotary shifter, and a Radical Red bezel around it.

Pricing starts at $44,625. Standard features include a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 12.3-inch main touchscreen, heated power-adjustable front seats, and a heated steering wheel. A hands-free power liftgate and driver setting memory also come standard on the Trailhawk.
