An electric Range Rover is officially here as a 2027 model. Most importantly, no one will mistake it for a different vehicle. This battery-electric model looks like a proper Range Rover complete with its iconic shape and silhouette. It promises the capability of one, too. The dual-motor setup generates 542 hp adn 627 lb-ft of torque and is backed by 118.5-kWh battery. This allows the SUV to hit 60 mph in as little as 4.3 seconds. The two motors also features silicon carbide semiconductors, enabling improved performance and efficiency. According to Land Rover, the all-electric Range Rover will have an EPA-estimated driving range of 333 miles. Not bad considering the SUV’s size and battery capacity.
For added capability, the all-electric Range Rover includes features like Intelligent Driveline Disconnect. This distributes rear torque from 0 to 100 percent to prevent traction loss. Meanwhile, Intelligent Traction Management controls motor speed within 50 milliseconds and manges slip up to 100 times quickes than an internal combustion vehicle. It works in concert with Single Pedal mode, giving owners addition vehicle control and allowing them to smoothly pull away even on a 33-degree incline.

2027 Range Rover Electric: Quick and Connected
Complementing the prodigious power of the 2027 Range Rover Electric is incredibly quick charging times. Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, it can DC charge from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes or add 125 miles in 10 minutes under ideal conditions. That’s when using a compatible 350-kW public DC charging station. To maximize battery safety and quality, Land Rover subjected live packs to extreme texting conditions. Additionally, the battery features a high-strength aluminum enclosure that can withstand big impacts. It also features a Battery Digital Twin that provides over 900 diagnostic data points. This allows for proactive vehicle maintenance in combination with over-the-air software updates.
Range Rover Electric owners stay connected with their vehicles through the new Range Rover app. This provides access to a suite of remote functions, including looking at charge status and the vehicle’s location. You can also use the app to schedule charging at times when electricity rate is lowest. North American-spec models have access to Tesla Superchargers and a native NACS charging port.
