Toyota infuses the Corolla Hatchback with some much-needed tech upgrades for 2027. The aging compact finally receives the same display options that its sedan sibling got two years ago. That means the range-topping XSE trim now comes standard with a 10.5-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cluster. Don’t worry, though. The base SE ditches the tiny 4.2-inch instrument cluster display for a 7-inch digital cluster. However, size queens can bump up to the large 12.3-inch unit and the 10.5-inch main touchscreen without opting for the XSE trim. Just select the SE Premium Package, which adds both!
Other changes for the 2027 Toyota Corolla Hatchback are minimal. The Blueprint exterior color replaces Blue Crush Metallic. Single- or two-tone variants are available. Additionally, Inked replaces Midnight Black Metallic. Furthermore, a feature found on last year’s FX Edition returns as a genuine accessory. That’s right, owners can now opt for those cool 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels on the 2027 Corolla Hatchback for that cool retro vibe.
Under the hood, the Corolla Hatchback continues to offer one option: a 2.0-liter I-4 with 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired exclusively to a CVT with a physical launch gear. Every model comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 and a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Although the infotainment system still includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Corolla Hatchback no longer offers a JBL premium audio system option on any variant. You only get a basic six-speaker unit.
In terms of pricing, the SE trim starts at $26,075. Not bad considering it comes generously equipped. The top-of-the-line XSE grade checks in at $29,170. For that kind of money, competitors like the Kia K4 Hatchback, Mazda3, and Subaru Impreza make more sense and offer much stronger value propositions.
