Nissan and Infiniti Outline Future Product, Teases New Xterra

The Nissan Vision Event did more than just reveal the new 2027 Rogue. It outlined the product road map for Nissan and Infiniti on a global scale. Artificial intelligent and electrification play a key role for both brands. Nissan’s AI Drive aims to integrate AI with vehicle control and safety systems with the long-term goal of deploying the feature to 90 percent of the lineup. The AI Partner technology complements this to intuitively support everyday activities and naturally integrate the vehicle into everyday life.

In addition, the automaker aims to increase electrification adoption. It will do this with the e-Power hybrid system, which serves as a core platform and bridge to full battery-electric vehicles. Nissan also revealed that it will offer a wide range of electrified powertrains based on the market and region. This includes a new hybrid system developed specifically for body-on-frame vehicles, a plug-in hybrid, and an extended range EV or EREV.

On the product end, three additional models join the 2027 Rogue. In Europe, an all-electric Juke joins the lineup, and unfortunately, it will not come to North America since we have the Leaf. For Japan, a new Skyline arrives as the brand’s signature sports sedan. Perhaps the biggest news is the return of the Xterra, which will offer gas and hybrid powertrains in North America. The company also included a teaser for that and we’re liking what we see. A boldly styled boxy SUV with futuristic details. It also confirmed the return of the Xterra’s signature yellow exterior color.

Meanwhile, Infiniti will continue to introduce new and refreshed models. These include a V6-powered sports sedan, likely closely related to the new Skyline, and a hybrid compact SUV. Two large hybrid SUVs are also coming, including one likely related to the new Xterra.
