After two weeks of bad news regarding Honda’s battery-electric vehicles, we received some good news. Somewhat. Pricing for the 2026 Honda Prologue has been reduced significantly. Following Hyundai’s cutting of Ioniq 5 prices late last year, Honda follows suit with a similar move.
Now, the 2026 Honda Prologue starts at $41,395 for the base EX trim with FWD, a full $7,500 cut! Most importantly, every trim receives that deduction. As a result, the most expensive Prologue Elite only costs $51,895, making it a more compelling proposition. However, keep in mind that some of the Prologue’s key rivals remain cheaper while offering similar or longer driving range ratings. The Hyundai Ioniq 5, Toyota bZ, and Subaru Solterra all fall within the same ballpark for under $50,000 for a loaded model. Even the more powerful Toyota bZ Woodland and Subaru Trailseeker manage to sneak under the $50,000 mark.

Honda did note that it cut the Prologue’s pricing to better align with customer needs and market conditions. Additionally, it will honor it across existing inventory and new incoming units. This is good news since it helps Honda bring in more prospective buyers with an attractive price tag. Best of all, the lowest-priced model isn’t one with a tiny battery pack. It has a driving range rating of 308 miles according to the EPA.
How long will this last? We’re not sure. With Honda killing off its entire EV program, the Prologue remains its sole EV. It’s not even built in-house because it shares its underpinnings with several General Motors vehicles. This may also be Honda’s way of saying that the Prologue lives on borrowed time, hinting that it’s not long for this world. With no successors in sight, it may be the right time to jump into a 2026 Honda Prologue.
