Yup, Honda has revived the Insight name once again for another generation. This fourth iteration ditches the hybrid powertrain in favor of a full battery-electric setup. According to the automaker, the new Insight features a low center of gravity and a lightweight body to improve handling. The single electric motor makes 310 nm or 228 lb-ft of torque, but its horsepower and driving range rating remain unknown. It also features Active Sound Control and a Sport mode that helps make the drive more engaging. Paddle shifters increase and decrease regenerative braking, while four drive modes give you more options to tailor the car to your liking.
In terms of design, this new Honda Insight looks…quirky. It features a wedge shape with a dramatic coupe-like shape, but keeps a bit of the boxiness found in modern Hondas. The rear end evokes the Toyota bZ and Subaru Solterra, especially with those angular taillights. Together with its more upright profile, the new Insight gives off crossover SUV vibes. However, the front end is easily recognizable as Honda, especially with its illuminated logo.

Inside, the Insight sports a tech-forward cabin layout. It features a 12.8-inch touchscreen that controls nearly everything due to the lack of physical buttons. Behind the steering wheel, a 9.4-inch digital cluster shows everything from your speed to state of charge. The Insight also marks the first time Honda put an aroma dispenser in a vehicle. In this case, the Insight has three slots, allowing you to have three of the six available fragrances ready. A 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and the full Honda Sensing suite come standard.
Will this new Insight make it to North America? Likely not. However, Honda needs something below the larger Prologue, especially after killing the 0 Series family and the Acura RSX.
