Subaru Impreza STI Performance Edition Is All Looks

Global markets see more unique offerings than we do in the United States. One of these is the Subaru Impreza STI Performance Edition, which debuted at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon. However, don’t expect these special edition models to back up their looks with actual performance capabilities. That’s right, this STI-badged Impreza is mainly a cosmetics package based on the Japanese market ST and ST-H trim levels.

Outside, the Subaru Impreza STI Performance Edition adds a ton of STI-branded parts. These include an STI Performance badge, black front and rear lower spoilers, and a roof spoiler. Additionally, its 17-inch alloy wheels and side mirror covers come finished in black and dark gray hues. Inside, you’ll find an STI start/stop button and shifter. On the performance front, the Impreza STI Performance Edition feature some components that sharpen its handling slightly. These include an STI flexible tower bar and an STI flexible rear draw stiffener. Unfortunately, that’s the extent of its suspension revisions.

For an even sportier look, you can also add the STI Performance Edition PLUS package. That adds a garnish kit and an STI performance muffler with dual center-mounted exhaust outlets. Don’t expect any additional power, though. That means the 2.0-liter boxer-four has the same 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque as the standard Impreza. Meanwhile, the e-BOXER model takes the same engine and adds a small electric motor with 13 hp and 48 lb-ft. However, the gas engine’s output drops to 136 hp and 134 lb-ft.

In the North American market, the Impreza comes with more power in the RS trim. That model uses the familiar 2.5-liter boxer-four with 180 hp and 178 lb-ft paired to a CVT. It also features a sport-tuned suspension and Active Torque Vectoring capability for improved handling without sacrifing ride comfort.
