2026 Mazda CX-5 Priced For Max Value

Mazda has officially announced pricing for the 2026 CX-5, and it’s a strong value. Let’s start with what’s carried over from the outgoing model. Under the hood, you’ll find the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder that debuted in 2014 on the first-generation CX-5 paired to the same six-speed automatic transmission. In this application, it makes 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. Finally, Mazda’s i-Activ AWD comes standard alongside its G-Vectoring Control Plus, which now has an electronic brake limited-slip differential that improves traction.

Now let’s take a look at the 2026 Mazda CX-5 lineup. The base 2.5 S trim starts at $$31.485 and comes packed with features. These include a 12.9-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Built-In, and a full suite of driver assistance technologies. On the other hand, the 2.5 S Select adds wireless functionality for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and keyless entry. The 2.5 S Preferred looks like the sweet spot. It includes 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, a head-up display, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 10-way power driver’s seat with memory.

2026 Mazda CX-5: Premium Without the Price Tag

Meanwhile, the 2.5 S Premium adds some visual differentiations. These include black-metallic alloy wheels, front and rear bumpers, side garnishes, and wheelwell moldings. Additionally, the LED lights now include Mazda’s Signature Illumination pattern. Moreover, you also gain more creature comforts. These include ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. Things get truly luxurious on the 2.5 S Premium Plus. That adds a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen, a hands-free power liftgate, adaptive headlights, and a surround-view camera. Furthermore, it adds more driver assistance technologies, including driver monitoring, Cruising and Traffic Support, and lane change assist.

How much will the most expensive versions cost you? Surprisingly, not too much. At $38,395 for the Premium trim or $40,85 for the Premium Plus, the 2026 CX-5 ranks among the more affordable vehicles in its segment. In comparison, a similarly equipped Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4 cost over $45,000. Although the latter includes a standard hybrid powertrain, it lacks the premium appointments of Mazda. Furthermore, a hybrid variant will join the CX-5 lineup in roughly a year.

Finally, the only options on the 2026 CX-5 are extra-cost exterior colors, all of which add $595 to the sticker price. These are Machine Gray, Rhodium White, Polymetal Gray, Soul Red Crystal, and Aero Gray. A new exterior color, Navy Blue Mica, is also available at no extra charge. The 2026 CX-5 goes on sale in the next few months.
