Yep, the Toyota Mirai is back for the 2026 model year. The only change? 19-inch alloy wheels finished in black. That’s it. Everything else carries over unchanged for Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell sedan. Additionally, it only comes in a single trim, the XLE. That’ll cost you $52,990 to put one in your garage.
What does that rather expensive sticker price get you? A lot, actually, because the 2026 Toyota Mirai comes loaded. Standard features include heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, auto-leveling LED headlights, and power-folding side mirrors. On the infotainment front, the Mirai comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and the Toyota Audio Multimedia system. It also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a JBL premium audio system, wireless charging, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver assistance comes standard, as does blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a surround view camera, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking. Traffic Jam Assist also comes standard, but it requires a subscription for Drive Connect to work.

2026 Toyota Mirai: Innovative and Familiar
As for the powertrain, the 2026 Mirai comes with Toyota’s latest hydrogen fuel cell powertrain. Underpinning it is the same RWD-based GA-L platform shared with the recently discontinued Lexus LS sedan. This setup creates electricity by mixing hydrogen from onboard tanks with oxygen from the outside air inside the fuel cell stack under the hood. Its rear-mounted electric motor makes 182 hp and allows the car. The Mirai can also travel up ot 402 miles according to the EPA.
Every Mirai comes with $15,000 worth of complimentary hydrogen fuel for six years, for purchases or three for leases. You also get complimentary rental vehicles for up to 21 days for the first three years.
