2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric First Look: Sport SUV, Evolved

Porsche just revealed the 2026 Cayenne Electric, giving its popular luxury SUV a third powertrain option. Most importantly, it’s the most powerful Porsche of all time. Launching in two versions, the base Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Turbo Electric, this hot SUV expands Porsche’s battery-electric offering to three.

Let’s start with the performance goods first. The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric features a dual-motor setup with a mind-boggling 1,139 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque on the Turbo model with launch control engaged. That means it can hit 60 mph in 2.4 seconds and the quarter mile in a staggering 9.9 seconds! The rear motor on the Turbo models features direct oil cooling to ensure continuous output and efficiency. What about the standard model? It’s “only” got 435 hp and 615 lb-ft from. Additionally, it can hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, which is plenty quick already. Top speeds are 162 mph for the Turbo and 143 mph for the base.

The Cayenne Electric handles nearly all of it via regenerative braking. When slowing down, it generates up to 600 kW of recuperative power. That means the electric motors handle 97 percent of all braking operations, meaning the mechanical brakes rarely need to stop the car. However, in typical Porsche fashion, the Turbo models offer ceramic composite brakes as an option for those wanting track-ready stopping power.

To complement its ludicrous power, the Cayenne Electric comes standard with adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management. Porsche says the latter compensates for body movements and ensures exceptional stability, handling, and comfort. The Turbo model also includes Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus limited-slip rear differential. Both models can also be equipped with rear-axle steering that turns the rear wheels 5 degrees.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric: Quick Charging Meets Iconic Looks

When it’s time to charge up, the Cayenne Electric delivers. Its new 113-kWh battery optimizes thermal management through double-sided cooling. Meanwhile, the 800-volt tech allows it to DC charge at up to 400 kW, enabling it to go from 10 to 80 percent in 16 minutes. Additionally, it comes standard with an NACS port for DC charging only. A J1772 inlet will continue to handle AC charging, while a CCS DC adapter will be standard on all models. Most importantly, the Cayenne Electric is the first Porsche to support inductive charging up to 11 kW. Just park the car above the floor plate, and it charges automatically.

In terms of design, the Cayenne Electric is pure Porsche. It features a low front hood, Matrix LED headlights, and a cool LED taillight strip. Moreover, it features Turbonite accents all around the exterior, from the Porsche logo to the window trim. Want your Cayenne Electric to look rugged? Add the Off-Road Design package, which adds a modified front fascia to improve its capabilities when the pavement ends. Most importantly, the Cayenne Electric has a low drag coefficient of 0.25, and the new Porsche Active Aerodynamics system. The latter changes the SUV’s aerodynamic properties based on the driving scenario to improve driving dynamics and add extra downforce. On the Turbo model, these include movable cooling air flaps, an adaptive roof spoiler, and active rear aero blades.

Welcome to the Cockpit

Step inside and you’ll find a spacious cabin with a large rear seat area. Additionally, the Cayenne Electric includes Mood modes that alter the seating position, ambient lighting, climate control, sound profile, and display appearance. It also has a panoramic sunroof with variable light control and new interior surface heating that warms up large contact surfaces.

On the infotainment front, the Cayenne Electric debuts the new Porsche Driver Experience featuring the Flow Display, a curved OLED panel in the center control. A new 14.25-inch OLED digital gauge cluster and physical buttons complement all of the screen-based functions. And should that not be enough, you can also add a 14.9-inch passenger display with AR technology, giving you a total of 87 inches worth of screens. Porsche also added a new Voice Pilot featuring AI that you can have a real conversation with. Finally, Porsche Digital Key is also on hand, turning your smartphone and smartwatch into your vehicle key.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric is available to order now, with first deliveries starting at the end of summer 2026. Pricing starts at $11,350 for the base model or $165,350 for the Turbo. In typical Porsche fashion, it features extensive customizability through the standard range of exterior and interior colors, wheels, and upholstery, as well as Paint to Sample and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
