Honda and Acura join a growing list of automakers with battery-electric vehicles that can DC charge at Tesla Superchargers. As a result, owners of the Prologue and Acura ZDX can now access over 23,500 DC chargers using an automaker-approved adapter. Tested for performance and compatibility with the company’s two EVs, this adapter allows owners to use Tesla Supercharger stations.
Keep in mind that not all Superchargers support the NACS standard. V1, V2, and select V3 stations remain compatible only with Tesla vehicles. You’ll need to ensure that the Supercharger station is either a V4 or a compatible V3. Thankfully, the Prologue and the ZDX’s infotainment system with built-in Google Maps can now locate these chargers. For now, initiating a charge requires using the Tesla app. However, Honda and Acura say that plug-and-charge capability is in development and coming soon.
Available for sale priced at $225 at dealerships or the Honda Dream Shop, the NACS to CCS adapter gives Prologue and ZDX owners more charging options. Additionally, both brands and Tesla state that they recommend only using the approved adapter. Any damage due to the use of an approved adapter may not be covered by the automakers’ warranties.

Honda and Acura EVs: More Public Charging Convenience
The addition of the Tesla Supercharger network gives Prologue and ZDX expanded public charging options. Moreover, that builds on the existing list of open stations, which includes Electrify America, IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo. Eventually, both the Prologue and ZDX will transition over to a native NACS port from the factory.
Currently, several brands have access to the NACS Tesla Supercharger network. These include Ford, Rivian, General Motors, Volvo, Polestar, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, and Lucid. For the moment, only Rivian and Ford have plug-and-charge capability, even with an adapter. Expect more brands to gain access to Tesla Superchargers later this year.
