Subaru Levorg STI-R Sport Black Limited II is Actually Yellow

Alongside the WRX STI Sport# Prototype, Subaru revealed a special edition for the Levorg and WRX S4. Called the STI-R Sport Black Limited II (it’s a mouthful, I know), think of this as Japan’s version of our Series.Yellow models. It takes the STI Sport EX and STI Sport R EX trims and injects a nice dose of color thanks to its exclusive Sunrise Yellow exterior color. Black side mirror covers, sharkfin antenna, and 18-inch alloy wheels complement that bright hue. Additionally, the LED headlights include black bezel accents. However, you can still get other colors, including World Rally Blue Pearl, Asteroid Gray Pearl (Levorg only), and Galaxy Purple Pearl (WRX S4 only).

Inside, the Subaru Levorg STI-R Sport Black Limited II features suede trim on the door and dashboard. Like our Series.Yellow WRX and BRZ, it also includes Recaro front sport seats with yellow perforations in them. The seats also include STI badges, even though this Levorg isn’t a true STI model, and black stitching on the shifter boot and the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Now, you’re wondering….what are the performance specs. Well, it’s the same exact powertrain layout as the standard Levorg and WRX S4. In the former you can pick between either a 1.8-liter Boxer turbo-four with 175 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Want more? You can also pick the more powerful 2.4-liter unit with 271 hp and 258 lb-ft. The WRX S4 only comes with the larger engine. Additionally, these special edition models only come with the Subaru Performance Transmission, aka a sport-tuned CVT.

As for the suspension, adaptive dampers come standard. Both models also include a version of Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD with variable torque distribution and a planetary center differential. This gives the Levorg and WRX a 45/55 front-to-rear power bias and improved grip.
