Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign Celebrates JDM Icon

The 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon was the stage where Italdesign revealed a tribute to one of Japan’s most iconic sports cars. Called the Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign, this vehicle is the result of a partnership between Honda and Italdesign. It pays homage to the supercar that proved performance, reliability, and usability can coexist.

The Honda NSX Tribute looks like the second-generation model and adds details inspired by the original NSX. For instance, the front fascia looks like the most recent model, complete with plenty of openings in the lower portion. It also has the thin headlights, functional flying buttresses, and the aerodynamic-looking side mirrors. However, things deviate once you get to the rear because it now takes cues from the first-generation NSX. The squared off rear end with the integrated low spoiler and the scoop mounted on the roof evokes the Japanese market NSX-R. It features a full-width LED light bar for a modern touch. To give the NSX Tribute an even sportier look, it comes standard with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama performance tires.

Italdesign also packed the car with several easter eggs. These include a small helmet with the number 12 or the Honda script on the dashboard, which references the legendary race car driver, Ayrton Senna. The rest of the interior looks identical to the second-generation NSX. Additionally, available two-tone exterior colors, complete with contrast stitching, help the interior pop. Otherwise, it looks eerily similar to the outgoing car, save for the NSX Tribute badges and that one easter egg.

Performance figures were not disclosed, but we expect this to at least match the second-generation NSX since that’s what it appears to be based on. That means this may be a hybrid with thrilling performance to match its looks.
