Stellantis has reversed its decision to go all-in on the V8 engine across the entire 2026 Dodge Durango lineup with the return of the V6 model. That’s right, the GT trim has two engine options once again. In addition to the 5.7-liter V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, buyers can now choose the familiar Pentastar V6. This 3.6-liter unit makes 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Like its V8 counterparts, it comes paired exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the Durango GT with the V6 engine comes in either rear-drive or AWD configuration. Pricing for the V6-powered Durango starts at $40,990 for the rear-drive mode. Add $2,000 if you want AWD.

Essentially a base trim, the V-6-powered 2026 Dodge Durango GT comes surprisingly well-equipped. It comes standard with the UConnect 5 interface featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen, built-in navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, and tri-zone climate control. You can add more goodies, too, including a rear load-leveling suspension, and 20-inch wheels. It also has an optional Blacktop package that adds a ton of blackout details all around the exterior.
That’s not all. The GT Plus trim adds more goodies like ventilated front seats, a sunroof, and a full array of driver assistance technologies. Additionally, you can add a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, second-row captain’s chairs, and red leather upholstery. Furthermore, the GT Plus comes standard with AWD regardless of the engine under the hood. However, performance-enhancing goodies like adaptive dampers, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential, require selecting the V8 engine. Pricing for the GT Plus starts at $46,590 with the base Pentastar V-6 engine.
